Emerging out of Chicago, rapper The Last Maven has been steadily releasing music since 2019, blending the essence of old-school hip-hop with a sound shaped for the present. His new track with Donte Thomas is a lovely example, especially when we look at how the pair flow over this nostalgic instrumental. The punchy drums give the track their bounce while the glittery keys offers an emotive touch to the overall vibe. Even though their delivery is different, I can’t neglect to mention the incredible synergy between the two rappers, resulting in a chemistry that feels natural, balanced.
