Karol G is nominated for three awards at the AMAs, but she’s already guaranteed to receive another award!
The 35-year-old Colombian singer-songwriter made a sexy arrival on the red carpet in a cut-out dress at the 2026 American Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Monday (May 25) in Las Vegas.
Karol will be honored with the International Artist Award of Excellence, which hasn’t been handed out since 2009. The honor is “an award which recognizes artists whose popularity and impact cross national boundaries and is only given when there is a deserving recipient who is worthy of recognition for their accomplishments.”
Previous recipients include Michael Jackson in 1993, Rod Stewart in 1994, Led Zeppelin in 1995, Bee Gees in 1997, Aerosmith in 2001, Beyonce in 2007, and Whitney Houston in 2009.
Karol G is also nominated for three competitive prizes at the American Music Awards
Karol is nominated for Best Female Latin Artist, Best Latin Song for “Latina Foreva,” and Best Latin Album for Tropicoqueta.
The appearance at the show comes ahead of the launch of the Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour, which kicks off in July in Chicago.
